Serve Robotics has successfully raised an additional $80 million in funding to accelerate the deployment of its sidewalk delivery robots, aiming to scale operations significantly across the United States by 2025.
Aggressive Expansion Strategy
The company is set to deploy 250 new robots onto the streets of Los Angeles during the first quarter of 2025. This move is part of a broader, ambitious roadmap to have up to 2,000 autonomous bots operating in multiple U.S. cities by the end of next year. This rapid scaling is fueled by a strategic contract with Uber Eats, which serves as a cornerstone for the company’s growth.
Path to Profitability
According to Serve Robotics CFO Brian Read, the company anticipates reaching operational cash-flow positivity once the 2,000-robot fleet achieves full utilization. By leveraging this increased capacity, Serve Robotics aims to solidify its position in the competitive last-mile delivery market while streamlining its unit economics.
