Fashion resale giant Poshmark announced on Monday that founder Manish Chandra is stepping down as CEO, with executive chairman Namsun Kim appointed as his immediate successor.
From Silicon Valley Garage to Global Marketplace
Chandra launched Poshmark in 2011, building the company from a Silicon Valley garage alongside three co-founders. His leadership steered the platform through a successful public offering and a high-profile acquisition by Naver in 2022. Today, the marketplace boasts a massive footprint of 150 million users.
A Strategic Leadership Transition
Following a 15-year tenure at the helm, Chandra will transition into a new role as a member of the company’s board of directors.
In a heartfelt message addressed to the Poshmark community, Chandra stated, “Leading this company has been the greatest honor of my professional life. Every success we’ve achieved, every challenge we’ve overcome, has been because of you. It’s been the privilege of a lifetime witnessing each of you grow, and it has truly inspired me every single day. From the bottom of my heart, thank you. For being the extraordinary community that you are, for your trust, your creativity, and for all the possibilities you continue to create together.”
Meet the Incoming CEO
Namsun Kim joins the chief executive role from Naver, where he currently serves as president of investments. Chandra noted that the two have been working closely since early this year to facilitate a transition that is “as smooth as possible.”
