Telegram is officially expanding access to its integrated crypto wallet for its 87 million users across the United States, marking a significant shift in the platform’s domestic service offerings.
Seamless Integration Within the App
The TON wallet, named for its native foundation on the TON blockchain, is built directly into the Telegram interface. This design choice is intended to lower technical barriers, creating a more accessible on-ramp for individuals who are new to the cryptocurrency ecosystem and prefer a streamlined user experience.
Overcoming Regulatory Hurdles
While Telegram has provided crypto wallet services to its international user base since 2023, the U.S. market remained closed until now due to prolonged regulatory uncertainty. The company confirmed that more than 100 million global users activated their wallets throughout the previous year—a figure representing approximately 10% of Telegram’s 1 billion total active users.
Current Blockchain Activity
Public data indicates that the TON blockchain currently facilitates roughly 334,000 transactions per day, a volume that is expected to shift as the platform integrates its massive U.S. audience into the network.
