According to company representatives, the move is a logical progression now that WhatsApp’s business infrastructure has reached sufficient scale to facilitate direct consumer discovery.
“[The new ads and promotion products] felt like the next natural evolution, now that both those businesses have scaled to help people discover businesses directly within WhatsApp. And that was what we were increasingly hearing from businesses that they wanted to do as well,” the spokesperson stated.
