On-demand gifting platform Afloat is officially expanding its services nationwide, transitioning from a localized model to a scalable SaaS-based infrastructure. Founder Preston confirmed the strategic shift, noting that the company no longer needs to perform difficult, manual market launches to operate in new regions.
Scaling Through SaaS Innovation
“We don’t have to hard-launch markets anymore, which is really exciting… We are going to be able to be SaaS anywhere, everywhere,” Preston stated. This pivot allows the platform to bypass traditional geographic barriers, enabling a rapid national rollout that maintains operational efficiency while expanding its reach to customers across the country.
New Subscription Tiers and User Growth
To complement its nationwide expansion, Afloat is developing a new subscription tier tailored for consumers. This upcoming premium service will introduce advanced features, including the ability to schedule future deliveries and receive real-time notifications the moment new gift offerings hit the platform.
Currently, Afloat reports a strong user base of over 30,000 active members. The startup has successfully secured more than $5 million in total funding, with key backing from prominent investors including Goodwater Capital and Techstars.
