Canva has officially launched its own proprietary design-focused AI model and a suite of new platform features, including integrated form building and professional email design, to further challenge industry incumbents.
New Tools for Forms and Email Marketing
The Australian design giant is expanding its utility beyond simple graphics. Users can now build custom forms directly within the Canva ecosystem to gather feedback and responses from audiences, positioning the platform as a direct competitor to services like Google Forms.
Furthermore, the platform is introducing dedicated email design capabilities. This allows marketers and businesses to craft transactional or promotional email templates that remain strictly aligned with their established brand aesthetics.
Affinity Goes Free and Integrates with Canva AI
Following last year’s acquisition of the professional design suite Affinity, Canva is making a bold move to disrupt the creative software market: the entire Affinity suite is now free for users forever.
To streamline professional workflows, Canva is redesigning the Affinity interface to unify vector, pixel, and layout tools into a single, cohesive environment. The integration goes deeper than just the interface, as designers can now create complex assets in Affinity and seamlessly migrate them into Canva.
Additionally, the company confirmed that Canva’s AI features—including image and design generation—are being baked directly into the Affinity software, bridging the gap between professional-grade editing and generative AI technology.
