CONTEUDO:
Pinterest is rolling out new user controls that allow people to limit the amount of generative AI-created content appearing in their feeds, aiming to reduce the prevalence of “AI slop” on the platform.
Refining Your Feed Through Direct Feedback
Users now have the ability to provide direct feedback on AI-generated imagery while browsing the platform. If a specific Pin feels unappealing due to its generative AI origins, users can simply tap the three-dot overflow menu. From there, they can select a specific category to refine their preferences and signal to the algorithm that they want to see less of that type of content in the future.
Rollout Schedule and Platform Availability
Pinterest confirmed that these new controls are currently launching on the web and Android versions of the app. The company plans to extend these features to iOS users in the coming weeks.
Balancing Innovation with Human Creativity
“Our community is at the heart of everything we do,” stated Matt Madrigal, Pinterest’s chief technology officer. “With our new GenAI controls, we’re empowering people to personalize their Pinterest experience more than ever — striking the right balance between human creativity and AI innovation, and ensuring every feed truly reflects what inspires them most.”
