Openvibe has officially integrated RSS feed support into its iOS and Android applications, allowing users to bridge the gap between traditional news consumption and social media interaction within a single platform.
Optimizing the User Experience
To ensure the platform remains efficient, the app features a “Performance Mode” toggle. This setting disables image loading in timeline previews, significantly reducing resource consumption and data usage for users tracking multiple feeds simultaneously.
Testing and Early Adoption
The company validated the RSS functionality through a pre-launch testing phase involving over 100 participants. During this period, these early adopters collectively integrated more than 4,000 individual feeds into the platform, demonstrating a strong demand for centralized content aggregation.
Business Model and Future Outlook
While the Openvibe app is currently free to download and contains no in-app purchases, the startup has confirmed plans to roll out a subscription-based model in the future. The company is currently supported by early-stage funding from Czech Founders VC, Tensor Ventures, and Automattic—the parent organization behind WordPress.com, Tumblr, and Beeper.
